We are the Chennai based franchise playing in the Hero Indian Super League since its inception in 2014. In Mrs. Vita Dani, Mr. Abhishek Bachchan & Mr. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, we have a passionate set of owners at the helm who come with a single-minded vision of making Chennaiyin F.C. the best & the most successful club in India.

The Chennai City Football Club is recognized and acknowledged as one of the oldest and most prestigious sports clubs in the city. The club was founded 67-years-ago, on April 8, 1946, by a team of five enthusiasts, Ms SV Kanagasabai, Mr E Vadivelu, Mr TR Govindarajan, Mr PV Chellappa and Mr K Ekambaram. Mr Govindarajan, the only surviving founder member of the club, sold the club to Rohit Ramesh, a young football fanatic in December 2013.
